What does 'everyone' mean?

I'm sitting here working and have the news on as background noise mostly... when they splash the screen with the infamous Will & Kate wedding. And the headline?

EVERYONE wants to know what Kate is wearing. Everyone?

It is amazing how that word is being so freely used. The media uses it especially when they want to insert their bias in political debates... and especially in regard to health care reform. "Everyone wants this bill to be revoked"... Everyone? No one I know, wants that debate to start from scratch because so many of us are tired of the Insurance Company Death Panels that no one wants to talk about.

All that posturing going on in congress. UGH! Yes... they need to revisit the bill and enhance it, not spend time and money throwing the entire thing out.

Yeah so... EVERYONE wants to know what Kate is wearing for her wedding.... How many of you lost sleep last night over it?
